For 20 years, Moving Images Video Project, a non-profit organization, has produced and distributed documentaries about war and peace, human rights, global justice, and protection for the environment. Host jim justice speaks with co-founders, Melissa Young and Mark Dworkin, about a new film entitled Plane Truths.
The recent expansion of Navy training activities in the Northwest has many local residents concerned. Community members on Whidbey Island, the San Juans, and the Olympic Peninsula are disturbed by an increase in noise caused by new jets based at Naval Air Station Whidbey (NAS). On Whidbey, communities have been additionally impacted by water system pollution caused by chemicals used for firefighting on NAS landing strips.
Their new 30-minute film Plane Truths explores a variety of perspectives on these issues from farmers, current and retired military personnel, environmentalists and other citizens of the affected areas. Listen as Melissa and Mark talk about their new documentary.
This film will be shown in LaConner, Friday, November 30th, 7PM, at the United Methodist Church, 601 S. 2nd St., on top of the hill.

NEW: Their next project will be out soon, "Argentina, Don't Give Up Your Voice", about the current struggles there especially after their new leader was elected a year before Trump. Mark says Argentina's leader and Trump are quite the pair. Following that, they will go back to cooperative enterprises theme - one worker, one vote.
