A Love of the Wild, With or Without Us
Honoring the centennial of the National Park Service, award-winning author Terry Tempest Williams spoke in Bellingham about her latest book, "The Hour of Land: A Personal Topography of America's National Parks". Part memoir, part natural history, and part social critique, it is a meditation and manifesto on why wild lands matter to the soul of America. "We are here because of love. A love of the wild, a love that is wild, wilderness, wildness, with or without us."
Listen to portions of Ms. Williams presentation on June 15th, sponsored by Village Books, North Cascades Institute and the Mount Baker Theater.
