Friends of the San Juans is an environmental non-profit organization established in 1979, and based in Friday Harbor. Today's show is Part 1 of 2 shows. Board members San Olson and Janet Alderton; and staff members Tina Whitman and Katie Fleming describe some of the many projects and issues Friends of the San Juans addresses and how they each use their passion and expertise to further Friends' mission to preserve and restore the San Juan Islands and the Salish Sea. This show focuses on the land based preservation and restoration work of Friends. Part 2 of this program will examine marine shipping and safety issues.
