It's been proven in Washington State that common-sense gun laws are favored by the majority of citizens. The Alliance for Gun Responsibility works to create laws that reflect this, promoting a culture of gun ownership that balances rights with responsibilities. Following the successful passage of two citizen-initiated gun violence prevention initiatives in 2014 and 2016 - both by wide margins - there is now a better opportunity to create common-sense gun legislation in our state. Julia Hurd talks with Renee Hopkins, Executive Director of the Alliance, about the Alliance's current policy points as well as its collaboration with civic leaders, other organizations, and grass roots networks, including Safe and Sane Skagit https://www.facebook.com/Safe-and-Sane-Skagit-171649423199321/?fref=photo ; and promotion of community education to reduce the gun violence crisis in our society.
