On the ballot this November, I-735 would urge the Washington state congressional delegation to propose a federal constitutional amendment that constitutional rights belong only to individuals, not corporations, and that constitutionally-protected free speech excludes the spending of money. Washington is the 18th state to introduce a ballot measure, and there is action underway in 42 states on this issue. This week, SUSO's Jodie Buller interviews Maggie Sullivan, who along with Gail Nichols is the Skagit County coordinator for Initiative 735, and Matthew Streib, who is the Communications Director for WAmend, the organization coordinating the state-wide effort to educate citizens in advance of the vote on this ballot measure in November.
